Our fully refurbished and refitted Hall Playground was opened on May 12th 2019.
We have retained the existing double slide and added a complete new play area with slide, rope climbing pyramid, roundabouts, swings, and other attractions on a safety surfaced area. The surrounding grassed area has a netball hoop and goal while for the adults there are picnic tables, bench seats and a Boule court.
The entire play area is securely fenced off and situated behind the car park away from the main road.
We are very grateful to the Garfield Weston Anniversary Fund who provided the bulk of the funds for the playground, to Betley Bonfire Committee who helped provide some extras and to Kompan who gave us a good deal on the equipment and installation. Special mention must also go to Trustee Mike Smith who has driven the entire project from its inception, getting grants, sorting planning, arranging health and safety inspections, getting costings and negotiating with suppliers and finally acting as clerk of works to see it built.
The trustees do their best to ensure that the play equipment and play area is maintained in good safe condition. It is reqularly inspected and has a formal annual safety inspection by an RPII (Register of Play Inspectors International) accredited consultant. However this is outdoor equipment so we stress that children should always be supervised by a responsible adult, who should make sure that the equipment is suitable in both condition and design for their children and ensure the children use it responsibly.
If any equipment appears to be damaged or faulty we would ask you to not use it and inform a member of the trustees committee as soon as possible.
