Logo and name

Since 1938 Betley and Wrinehill WI has brought together lively-minded women from our two villages and the surrounding areas and has welcomed them to monthly meetings, held in Betley Village Hall. A variety of speakers, entertainment and refreshment is offered as well as good company! Newcomers to the villages are especially welcomed and we aim to provide a great introduction to village life.

Recent activities and speakers include learning a little sign language and its importance for deaf people, cookery demonstrations, art presentations, craft activities and outings to the Black Country Museum and to Port Sunlight.

Aside from local activities, the WI offers events at county level and the National Federation promotes nationwide action on issues important to women and the environment.

During the Covid pandemic meetings have been restricted but as from September 2021 we are back in action, (with due precautions) and our programme for the next months can be seen below. We have welcomed an encouraging number of new members this year and are on the lookout for more!

We meet in the Village Hall on the second Wednesday of the month at 7.15pm. Visitors can try us out for just 4 pounds a meeting which is refunded if you decide to join us. The annual subscription, is currently 43 pounds and this includes 11 local meetings, plus access to trips out, training opportunities and a monthly magazine.

Come and give us a try. You have nothing to lose except possibly an episode of Coronation Street and you can record that!

Some of our pre-Covid activities and excursions

Castles, gardens, factories, open air theatre, talks, cakes, sewing, cooking, friendship, good company, an occassional glass of wine and much more.

We are looking forward to organising more trips and activities in 2022.
