Logo and name

Betley and Wrinehill WI celebrated 8o years during 2018 and continues to bring together lively minded women from the area to our monthly meetings at the village hall. A variety of speakers, entertainment and refreshments is offered and access to county and national activities.

During the year we have heard about hearing dogs, one of which settled itself on members` feet! We have learned about the history and manufacture of soap and bathing and ventured into the world of Shakespeare with our own very unique version of Midsummer Night`s Dream performed al fresco! With a glass of wine and buffet it really was “Bottoms Up”!

Our trip to the Black Country Museum was a huge success although to some of us it felt like living history.

We meet in the Village Hall on the second Wednesday of the Month at 7.15pm and warmly welcome visitors. It's just £3 per meeting which is refunded if you join the national WI Federation. From January, the annual WI subscription is £41 for 11 local meetings plus access to trips and other activities at local and national level. Come and give us a try. You have nothing to lose except possibly an episode of Coronation Street and you can record that!

Some recent activities and excursions

Castles, gardens, factories, open air theatre, talks, cakes, sewing, cooking, friendship, good company, an occassional glass of wine and much more.
